There have been some odd things happening to me lately, and now my life has suddenly, dramatically changed. I had been fretting about working and finding a purpose in life outside of my family, and now it seems, that perhaps my time has come.
I am going to BIKRAM YOGA TEACHER TRAINING! Yes, I am venturing into that crazy so-called “yoga bubble” they call Bikram teacher training. Nine intense weeks in Los Angeles with some 400 yogis from around the world.
The decision came rather suddenly. First sign: My bungled job opportunity. Second sign: John had just booked a job that allows him to work from home, an opportunity that hasn’t happened in three or four years. Third sign: John encourages me to take this opportunity to go to yoga training even though I had put it out of my mind. Fourth sign: I just happened to catch my doctor from walking out the door for a month of holidays to sign a medical consent form just in case I decided to go. Fifth sign: Money is cheap to borrow right now… and on, and on the list goes.
It seems there is nothing stopping me from going, except that my heart will be heavy when I leave my family for nine weeks. The training starts in mid-September, so at least I will be here for the start of my son’s school year before I head to my own schooling in L.A.
I am extremely grateful to the universe for making this happen, albeit a bit more quickly than I had envisioned for myself. The studying has begun, and I can’t wait to share more of this journey. Please stay tuned.
